The citronella scent emitted from the nonpolluting Flowtron FD 15 citronella dispenser may smell pleasant to you, but it confuses mosquitoes and biting flies. Naturally masking the human attractants these insects use to find you and start snacking, the citronella dispenser keeps you from getting bitten without the use of sprays, repellents, torches, or candles. This unit measures 5-1/8 inches in length, stands 3-3/8 inches high, and features an instant on/off switch, an internal fan, and a replacement citronella cartridge. Not so good!
We used this product while camping and two feet away from the dispenser was my husband. Needless to say, he recieved four mosquito bites in less than a minute, by the same mosquito! I don't think this works very well. I would suggest the BUG BANDS instead. You wear them around your wrist or ankle and they are DEET FREE as well. The bug bands completely protected my family on a recent camping trip from insect bites. None of us recived any and we wore the wrist bands constantly.
